as we grow up, we discover that much of this world is running the same race. get this. achieve that. grow this. earn these. but the race of life is not won when we arrive, but rather when we discover the race God wants us to run. a race where we don’t worry about the destination but rather what Good can be done on the way to it. this series is all about learning the race God wants us to run in this life.
we all have questions about how to follow Jesus, but there can be so many different voices telling us what they think is right or wrong. How do we know what the Bible really says? How do we know what to truly follow? How do we remain faithful to Jesus while listening to the host of voices in our every day and digital spaces? This recurring series seeks to answer the questions we have with honesty and transparency from the Bible to help us know what we need to know.
in our last video, we started this new series talking all about sex and what the bible has to say about it. in this video, we’re continuing the conversation and focusing in on the idea of sexual integrity. what is it, why is it important, and why does God want us to live it out?
🎙️there is a lot to talk about when it comes to sex, but perhaps much of the talking is being done by people who don’t follow Jesus. ✝️ during this 3 week series at students groups, we will discuss the relevance and importance of a christian sexual ethic that is full of grace, puts sex in its place, and creates a safe space to talk about the awkwardness that it is. so…let’s talk about sex.
welcome back!! we’ve got a question for you: are you ready for a challenge? either way, buckle up and get ready for some action-packed words from sean as he kicks us back into students groups this spring.
so just like the word sacrifice, the word SURRENDER tends to have a negative connotation in today's culture. however, think about it like this: surrender to Jesus is not the same as surrender to an abuser or surrender to an abusive relationship. surrender is not simply giving up because you realize you can’t win. surrender is choosing to trust that God's way is better than your way.
the past couple weeks, we’ve been in this series called REFRAIN where we’re talking about how to use the psalms as refrains to help us hold close to God. at some point, though, we have to realize that unless we let God in the middle of our striving, we’ll simply be surviving instead of thriving. grab your bible, settle in, and embrace the silence as sean helps us think through some ways that we can let God in.
this week in our series, elephant in the room, sean has a really awesome message for us about GENEROSITY and the TRUST that it takes to be generous. so go ahead and swipe away those tiktok notifs and settle into another week of some some important truths about what the bible says about our money.
we’re officially kicking off our first series of the fall here at students groups, and it’s called…ROYALS! what comes to mind when you think of royalty? if you’re anything like us, probably crowns, gold, kings, and queens. but as sons and daughters of the one true King, we’re called to a higher way of living. what does it mean to be GOD’S royalty?
🎵weeee’re baaack!🎵 yes, you heard right: students groups is back! 🥳 we’re kicking off our first week with our families and an awesome message from sean about how everyone needs someone who sees them like jesus does.
Labels are everywhere, helping us make sense of the world – from products to warnings and even in how we define our relationships. We label someone as safe, another as funny, and identify those who accept us. But what happens when these relationship labels don't match up? When family isn't loving or friends betray us, do the societal labels hold up? Is there a different label system for our connections according to God?
God calls us to be ambassadors of Jesus on this earth, meaning the lives we live are supposed to be seen and heard and not hidden. we are marked by the life of Jesus because he has so radically changed us, we can’t help but do as he did.
